Have you ever been reading the Bible when a particular sentence or phrase leaps off the page and kicks you right in the nuts!?! Apparently thats called the conviction of the Holy Spirit and it just happened to me (Im still doubled over, cringing and whimpering) as I read Pslam 12:2 about those who speak with a double heart. And since every scripture is confirmed by at least 1-2 other scriptures (by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established Deuteronomy 19:15/ Matthew 18:16) the Lord immediately confirmed His truth with an even more convicting line from James 1:8 that says he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. So apparently I have conflicting motives cause Im double hearted AND double minded. No wonder my life is a catastrophic mess of disorganization and instability. BUUUUUTTTT, God never criticizes or chastens without offering a solution, so He brought to my remembrance the phrase unite my heart from Psalm 86:11. If my heart is going in two different directions, clearly it needs instead to be united in purpose, intent, and action. So now Im off to face the day, with a slight limp in my walk, but a smile on my face. #UniteMyHeart
