Have you ever grieved someone on purpose? Do you know how to push someones button who is close to you? Do you have ILL SHOW YOU ATTITUDE You know what irritates them and causes them pain so you PUSH THAT BUTTON just to get even. When we do this toward God its called GRIEVING THE SPIRIT. When we are in love with God...we do not want to GRIEVE HIM. We do not want to sin against Him. We do not have to grieve the Spirit. Its not even on our mind to do such a horrible thing when we are in love with God. Some believe we cannot stop sinning. Some believe if you are saying can stop sinning. Then you are saying, Im better than anyone. Lets look at it in this way. When I love my wife...why is it that I dont want to grieve her? Because I love her. As a husband Im trying more and more to be aware of her needs out of love as she is doing the same for me. My relationship is not to make her my slave to meet my wants but to have a relationship where we work together. Can we grieve unintentionally? Yes! Is that called sin? No! Yet, to someone else who has seen us do something that might be wrong might believe we have sinned but dont know thats person awareness or heart motive. Now when we are made aware that we have grieved our mate or friend or anybody... and dont want to correct this then thats when it becomes sin for us. ITS ALL ABOUT THE HEART. ITS ALL ABOUT OUR MOTIVE. WHEN WE HAVE CHRIST LIVING IN OUR HEART...HE MOTIVATES US...HE SHOWS HOW WE SHOULD LIVE. In a highrise there are two sets of stairs. There are the stairs that we take when we go to our office or apartment. And there are stairs called the fire escape. The fire escape stairs are there just in case there is an emergency. Duh! We only take these stairs when there is an emergency...they are not the everyday stairs to our office or apartment. 1 John 2:1-2 If we do sin we have an advocate that we can go to to make things right. The meaning of that verse was not written for us to continue living in sin. Its our fire escape verse! Remember, we are children of God. My children are always learning. Being a parent is like being the Holy Spirit to them showing them the right way to live. Speaking of living...Lets live in Rom 8!
