Have you ever had your blood pressure checked? How often do you check it? Most women get it checked regularly thought their pregnancy. Follow up after delivery is not very consistent however. Most others, rarely have their pressures checked. Your blood pressure is a reflection of the functioning of your heart and the condition of your blood vessels. Regular exercise and weight loss itself will lower the blood pressure. It is one of the primary ways of treating high blood pressure. The BP does rise slightly during exercise. The Systolic pressure, or the higher number can increase as the heart pumps harder to supply blood to all the muscles during exercise. The Diastolic pressure or the lower number however should remain stable, indicating the pliability of your blood vessels. The systolic should also return to normal soon after an exercise session. Holding your breath during weight lifting, performing exercises that are way too strenuous for your capability, exercising under pressure, lack of sleep, anxiety, fat burning supplements etc can cause the Bp to rise inordinately. Have your Bp checked by your physician regularly. If high it needs to be treated. Hypertension is a silent killer and can cause various problems like strokes, kidney failure and heart attacks.
