Have you ever loaned a car to a friend? Have you ever dated a guy who didnt have a car and you allowed him to use yours from time to time? Well thats all April Brown did. And 3 months later she is still sitting in a county jail in Philadelphia, Mississippi with an accessory after the fact charge because he committed a felony murder while driving her car. Her public defender showed up in court, read a newspaper, never spoke to her and had no objection to the court labeling her a flight risk and setting an excessive bail against her. April has no criminal record, a working mother of three and a home owner. She is constantly told if she wants to go home all she has to do is sign a confession and waive her right to a trial/hearing. Can you imagine getting up, going to work like any other day, escorted off your job in handcuffs to a police station while all the time thinking this is a mistake, Ill be home in time to cook dinner for my children and three months later youre still sitting in a jail cell; children split between family members, job gone, house in danger of foreclosure all because you loaned someone your car? I cant either!!! Thats enough to wear anyone down. THIS IS THE SAME KIND OF JUSTICE SO CALLED BLACKS RECEIVE. THE COMMUNITY IS OUTRAGED THIS FAMILY HAS BE TAINTED AND DESTROYED BY THIS FRAUDULENT JUSTICE SYSTEM THAT CONTINUE TO PROVE WE ARE NOT FREE!!!!!! PLEASE pray for her strength and release, give to the Free April Brown Fund, write an encouraging letter to April and/or re-post her story.
