Have you ever purchased a “lemon”? No, not the sour fruit. I - TopicsExpress

Have you ever purchased a “lemon”? No, not the sour fruit. I am speaking about forking over money for a purchase, but later discovering that you got a sour deal! You never would have purchased the product, if you had known that it was defective. How seemingly “foolish” and totally extravagant, then, the love of God! God knew we were “lemons”, faulty and inferior and apt to disobey, yet he purchased us anyway - and at an altogether exorbitant price; a wrapping in flesh for a visit to Earth, which led to a blood-letting at Calvary. Today has been crowned (by some group somewhere) as Giving Tuesday. O.K. I am wearing a shirt with these words on it: A Blood Donor Saved My Life. Some people mistake it for meaning the Red Cross, until they see the red cross with a drop of blood falling from it. Then they realize that I am speaking of the greatest donor; the supreme Giver, who surrendered His life for “lemons” like me. If (when) we happen to purchase a “lemon” of a deal, it requires an investment of additional time and money to repair or make the product function as you hoped it would have when you bought it. Daily God continues to invest in His lemons to “get them up to snuff”, if you will. He does not grow weary in doing well! He who began a good work in us will continue to perfect us until the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil. 1:6) That is good news for people lemons like me.........and you. Just as I am without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me. And that Thou bidst me come to Thee O Lamb of God I come, I come.
