Have you ever seen the way pottery is made? It starts out with a lump of clay, a little at a time some water is added and the wheel starts spinning. The potter feels along as he is molding his vessel, if he comes across a lump of impurity he pulls it out, pounds down the lump of clay and starts all over again. He comes across another impurity; he pulls it out, pounds down the clay and starts all over again. Now he has his vessel molded, he put it into the kiln, or fire. When he thinks his vessel is finished, he pulls it out of the fire and THUNKS it on the rim with his finger, if it sings, the vessel is ready, if it doesn’t sing he puts it back into the fire. This reminds me of a Christian life. When God, our potter and creator find an impurity in our life, He plucks it out, pounds us down and starts all over again. After we are shaped into perfection, He puts us into the fire for a while . . . if WE don’t come out singing, He puts us back in the fire until we do. Give PRAISE unto our Lord God in ALL things, good or bad. Stay faithful to Him.
