They are able to hear much higher frequencies and they can detect sounds which are at four times the distance a human being can hear. Hence they are able to sense any slight change in their environment. As domestic dogs want to protect their owners, they will tend to react to supernatural activities by barking and growling and other unusual behaviors, in order to warn their masters about the danger.
