Have you ever stop and pondered if the US Government had a shut down that the impact of the shut down would devastate all North American Indian Reservers? On indian reservations most Everything is funded through the US government. From the Indian Health Services to most tribal government offices and programs a majority is government funded. Ive notice, since becoming a Tribal Judge, there are few beautiful empty buildings throughout my own reservation. I wondered why these buildings were not being utilized? (As Im the kind of individual that was taught not to be a waster of things, in my church we do not waste anything even down to the last paper clip lol) so I asked, and the answer given to me was, there was not enough grant monies so it was force to just shut down. I was like wow! You mean, those beautiful empty buildings will be shut down, and will rot away because there is no funding? That means to me, if a government program runs out of monies, thats it! Everyone goes home without a job, a paycheck, until more funding becomes available or they just never re-open the business. I personally believe, Now is a perfect time to start entertaining other business ventures that could help us improve our living. Here are a few business Ideas, for the individual who is a go-getter, with low over head, something anyone can manage: 1) Pest Controller 2) Auto Detailer 3) Office Cleaning Business 4) Tree & Stomp Removal Service 5) Wood Cutting Business 6) ChainSaw Mechanic You can do these business as a part-time side job on your reservation and in surrounding towns nearby. Our Indian Reservation in Mescalero is in a perfect location for a business chain outlet such as a: Sams Club, Red Lobster, Boston Market, a Major Shopping Strip Outlet (similar to the one on the outskirts of El Paso, Tx going towards Las Cruces) next to the Casino Apache Travel Center, and so on.... If Ruidoso wants to keep their mom & pops operation let them, then we in Mescalero can offer the reputable markets to compete for business. In the end, its not who wins, but as in my experience business profits from other businesses. Please feel free to comment on my fb profile. Just keep it clean.
