Have you ever thought of Paul’s life? Is there any similarity to yours? Or to mine? He was someone who knew himself and lived in honesty, whether it was as a faithful Jew who went after those who professed belief in Jesus or as a convert to Jesus’ way who was passionate about sharing his experience of Jesus, his faith. I believe all of us have some of this gift too. We are trying to be true to ourselves and our faith. Take some prayer time today and just thank God for all the good you do, and for who you are as a person of truth with yourself and others. Read Acts 18:1-8, it will help you to reflect on people’s many different reactions to Paul. Why should we expect anything different? In Psalm 98 we read “sing to the Lord a new song.” Each day is an opportunity for us to do that especially in our families or among our friends. Obviously I am not suggesting that we go around and literally sing but that we do it in the way we live our day. This is what Paul did. Why not you and I? -- Msgr. John Barry
