Have you ever visited your local community shelter to see how they use the donations you bring? (Hopefully everyone thinks of them from time to time when you get rid of things you dont need anymore.) Theyll happily tell you how your donations will benefit (or not.) I saw a dumpster today filled with about 200 lbs of expired canned vegetables. Mostly green beans and corn. Seems to be a popular item that people part with when theyre deciding what they need and dont need. I was dropping off 3 gallons of milk and 2 dozen eggs. Rare items in their kitchen. As I was walking through the cafeteria, it was right at dinner time. Lines of people were forming for a meal. As I walked through with my donation, I heard a young woman mutter: Middle class white lady trying to make herself feel better. Ha! If they only knew. I guess they were never taught that everyones got something, be kind as often as you can because you never know when youll need the kindness of others. We have been blessed by that motto.
