Have you ever wondered how a minimum of 11 of our candidates go from no work experience to becoming well paid project management or business analysis professionals every month? Earning rates of £200 - £550 a day as contractors depending on the role they applied for and the amount of experience gained while with our parent company: Digital Bananas Technology (digitalbananas.co.uk). Its not magic and the answer is pretty simple. Here is our story... My childhood friend and I launched a video commerce platform in 2007 called Tellallmyfriends (tellallmyfriends), we were featured in the The Wharf press wharf.co.uk/2010/12/the-web-business-tapping-into.html. We got a nice small office in docklands, a design team in Portugal and a development team in Ukraine. Before then, I had built up the valuable experience required to set up a program office and manage a digital company. A lot of my friends who were looking for work at the time would come in to our office and shadow us working, contributing to concepts, helping to strategise and more importantly get involved in the entire analysis, design, development and deployment stages using Prince 2, Waterfall and the Agile Scrum methodology. In no time, these friends started applying for work using the work experience gained from Tellallmyfriends and secured rewarding careers in project management and business analysis. They earned it and today majority of these friends are mentors to our new candidates. We didnt stop there though, we decided to break into the world of mobile and native application development, just as we are now breaking into the new era of internet of things. Today we specialise in building integrated lifestyle mobile applications under our new company: Digital Bananas Technology Limited (digitalbananas.co.uk). We launched our first app: Grant My Wish, which was shortlisted for the 2012 innovation awards (https://econsultancy/blog/8413-revealed-the-econsultancy-innovation-awards-2012-shortlist ) Out of thousands of applicants we were among the finalist for innovation in customer and user experience along with Skype, Kiddicare and Autotrader. By this time, friends of our friends heard of their friends securing well paid PM & BA roles and wasted no time joining our work experience program which we were running under Career Insights (careerinsights.tv). By the time we successfully launched the Grant My Wish app, we were featured in the national press: Best App - The Sun, Best App for Xmas - PC Advisor and so much more:(pcadvisor.co.uk/features/software/3322758/best-iphone-apps-five-free-christmas-apps/). Majority of candidates who worked on this project went on to work for Tesco, BBC, Sky, Shell, Barclays and a lot more companies who were focusing on deploying mobile applications. It wasnt long before we realised that companies were particularly interested in candidates from our companies Tellallmyfriends or Digital Bananas Technology mainly because of our innovative concepts and the expertise we had in analysing, designing, developing and deploying complex projects within a short space of time. We went from training 10 people a month to 100 people a month. Build an ecosystem of over 1,400+ project management and business analysis professionals and launched our extremely robust & efficient online collaborative environment using basecamp, MS sharepoint, projectmanager. We even launched a PM & BA elearning platform for all existing candidates which has accelerated the time it takes candidates to secure their first role. Check it out: careerinsights.tv/live-project-videos/ To improve our candidates chances of securing jobs we made a decision to bring them up to speed with the latest PM and BA tools. We felt staying ahead of most companies by using tools that enabled agility, flexibility and the ability to work across cross functional teams and fostering collaboration was key to managing successful projects which gave our candidates a competitive advantage over others. We used jira for our agile based projects and defect management life cycle, we used confluence for our requirement engineering processes, basalmiq for wireframing, and gliffy for process modelling. learn more here: careerinsights.tv/tools/ Our candidates quickly became skilled experts and their thinking patterns changed because they constantly had to work on new innovative concepts that required excellent problem solving skills. Today, with no more than 2-6 months work experience, our candidates are able to competently compete for and secure PM & BA related roles based on their recent record of achievements, relevant skill and expertise required in todays fast moving and complex global industry. Check out their success stories here: careerinsights.tv/success-stories/ This year 2014, we have launched 3 pretty cool apps and we have submitted them for the 2014 Innovation Awards: heresmycard.co tellallmyfriends.co.uk reeviu.biz Once again, based on the successful launch of these apps, we have seen a minimum of 11 of our candidates securing life changing jobs each month. What makes 2014 a pretty special year for us is that our apps are being judged by judges from Sky, American Express, Tesco, BBC, HSBC, John Lewis, Selfridges, Microsoft and so much more. Check out the long list of judges: thedigitalsawards/judges/ These companies will be recruiting and if you have been working on any of the projects they are considering, chances are you would be a likely candidate for them, just as our successful candidates have been for other employers. We are now getting ready for 2015. We will be working on more innovative apps and you if you are thinking of gaining practical work experience in project management or business analysis working on pretty cool innovative apps that will have employers literally begging you to join them, then you want to join our intensive hands on training program this month.
