Have you ever wondered if you could wind your yarn with an electric hand mixer...Ummm, yes you can...Has anyone tried this? Can I offer a suggestion. I would recommend that you fold the roll in half twice before using it... Then put onto the beater. When you are done winding, you can collapse the centre at the fold marks giving the yarn the ability to relax. If you wind your yarn on and dont give it the ability to relax, it will permanently stretch your yarn and change the weight of the yarn in the strand; therefore ruining your yarn. Go see my video at the 6 Min, 20 Second Mark. When I take the yarn ball off the winder, you will see for yourself how much the yarn relaxes. The yarn needs to relax after winding. https://youtube/watch?v=d37y7DbxtqU I also have an article where I have taken shots the Caron Yarn Plant... You can see for yourself how big the centres are when rolling the one pounders... As you know, its hard to find the centre as its so tight but look how big the centre is when its wound... Its wound around a large diameter spool as it needs to relax that much when its done. thecrochetcrowd/how-yarn-is-made/ (We dont accept responsibility for lost fingers... please be really careful. Its bad enough when you hear people licking the beaters and the machine is still plugged in!)
