Have you ever wondered why....??? --Ignorance of the law excuses no man but his innocence will free him? At some point in life, we will all come to that relational apex that bridges knowledge into wisdom when we spiritually discover that ignorance and innocence are not the same thing. One (innocence) is rooted in a naturally spiritual state of purity, while the other (ignorance) veins from the revelational rebellion to or a rejection of access to a specific and available knowledge. Accountability for ones behavior is conceived within this realm (Mens rea-culpability). This is why these terms cannot be used interchangeably, therefore one should never be mistaken for the other. It is this premise in which I believe that the rites of passage into manhood or womanhood are so important and should not be discounted or withheld. Even the most simple and primitive human cultures participate in rites of passage for social behavioral transition and personal accountability seeing that they are a must in order to maintain a healthy social infrastructure.
