Have you heard about Google Code-in? Google Code-in is an initiative for 13-17 year olds to get involved in open source software projects. It allows students to have the opportunity to explore the world of open source development and see how this encourages people to work together on shared goals over the internet. Tasks in the Google Code-in vary from coding, documentation, research, design and testing. Participants can also identify mentors to help them with their chosen task.(Students dont have to be able to code to participate) Grand Prize Winners get to visit Google Headquarters in California, USA with a parent or guardian. There are also minor prizes awarded too. The Code-in has begun and will end on the 19th January 2015! Get your students involved at: google-melange/gci/homepage/google/gci2014
