Have you heard about the IDA Program? It is a matched savings account that encourages eligible clients to save money and gain assets. You can save for a first home, home repairs, secondary education, job training, or to start a small business. Eligibility requirements are- 185% of the federal poverty level (for a household size of two that is $28,693.50 per year), have a child 18 or younger living in the home, and commit to saving $27.79 per month. You must remain eligible while you are enrolled in the program. Contact your local office for additional information. Once the applicant has been enrolled for 6 months and saved $667, your savings will be matched up to $2,000 per person or $4,000 per household!
