Have you heard of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? If you think this is boring fair enough but your apathy will only heighten an already critical level of ignorance which is causing humans to turn on one another and which is ultimately destroying us. If you’re interested in expanding your knowledge of the human race this is essential. This applies to all people no matter where they come from or what wrongs you consider them to be guilty of. It also applies to the worst descriptions of humankind for all people start life as children, remember that, and many individuals who grow up to become offenders can not help the childhoods they have had. We need to start focusing more on the FACT that another generation of criminals is being brought up right now and these individuals did not choose their families or the communities into which they were born. How a person or groups of people relate to the world has as much to do with the attitudes of others towards them as well as their attitudes. It is not a case of individualism OR the collective, it is ALWAYS a case of individualism AND the collective. Probably more importantly is the FACT that Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs also applies to YOU. If you care about yourself and your species familiarise yourself with these theories and think about how they relate to you and these around you. We’re all in the same game here and it is getting tougher. If we all start working together we may be able to make things easier for ourselves and one another. Psychology is not some vague complicated subject it is something which you use and experience every second of every day. Get to know yourself and you will be able to improve your quality of life.
