Have you heard of prebiotic foods? Prebiotics are naturally occurring nondigestible carbohydrates, or soluble fibers, that nourish the growth of specific beneficial bacteria. Unlike probiotics, prebiotics are not live organisms. Next time youre at the store, keep an eye out for some of these foods rich in prebiotics: Raw chicory root, Jerusalem artichoke, raw dandelion greens, raw garlic, raw leeks, and raw onions.
