Have you heard the story of the unlikeliest G-Man of them all?... - TopicsExpress

Have you heard the story of the unlikeliest G-Man of them all?... Even though we’re at odds on political issues, I’ve always enjoyed having the Rev. Al Sharpton as a guest on my radio and TV shows. We can get into spirited debates without coming to blows. Well, now, we know how he honed his ability to avoid ticking people off. And I have newfound respect for him. According to TheSmokingGun, in the 1980s, Al Sharpton was a paid mole for the FBI, known as “Confidential Informant Number 7.” His mission: to hobnob with some of New York’s top Mafia bosses in the Genevese crime family, toting a briefcase containing an FBI recording device. Al is so good at talking that he got the mobsters to spill tons of useful information that led to their downfall. Luckily, most of those wiseguys are now dead or in prison for life. Sharpton didn’t exactly deny the story, but he denied being paid or carrying a bug. But if he really wants to refute it, he could just point out that the report quotes a 1986 court document as saying that Informant Number 7’s information “has never been found to be false or inaccurate.” If you’ve seen MSNBC, you know that can’t be him.
