Have you noticed the new trend, actually Ive seen it more and more since late last year. Its the Mustache craze. Yes folks! Mustaches have appeared on everything from mugs to bracelets to necklaces, Tshirts - everything! Do you know where this logo came from? Much like the Pink ribbon craze, the Mustache logo originally came from an organization that promotes growing mustaches during Movember to raise funds for testicular, prostate and mens cancers. (Yes, Movember). This movement of mustaches was started by this organization in 2004, yet tons of businesses are raking in the dough on selling these mustache items and donating nothing to the cause. I mention it because, I try to raise awareness to others about giving. We see the pink ribbon every where, on products throughout the year, but how many times do you read the fine print on the back? How much of the price that you pay for that product goes to helping someone with Breast cancer? Start informing yourself prior to splurging to support just because you see a ribbon - really look into it. This being said, when you buy a mustache cup or a silicon bracelet for your child, keep in mind that none of your $5-10 Is going to benefit that charity. Its a way for business to make money off of things that they believe the public wants, by unfortunately using the organization and utilizing to make money. Sad. :( Just know that every time you donate to UCAAN, your money is going in someway to help a cancer patient in need. We offer things/gifts for donations, but the money all goes to UCAAN, not to some big wig raking the benefits of your hard earned cash. Just had to share. Sorry for the rant guys.
