Have you read the parable of the prodigal son? If you havent read - TopicsExpress

Have you read the parable of the prodigal son? If you havent read it, it is a love story about all of us. This love was given to the son whom didnt understand the depth of his fathers love for him. It was about what the son thought was love through gain of what riches could buy. The riches would have been his later, but he wanted to spend it before it was rightfully his. He wanted use it for the lusting after things that wouldnt satisfy. He had his sights on what he thought would bring him prestige, happiness, fun, and friends. Instead, it brought him dishonor, hunger, and loneliness. That is what the world can offer...what seems to be glorious and glamorous is vain and empty. When the son failed in his attempts to be apart from his fathers love, he was at place of hunger. There was a famine in the land and he was eating the husks of life. The one thing he remembers, that he could at least be a servant of his father and have food to eat. Servant is a form of bondage, but it was better than what he had. He wouldnt go hungry. The part that I really love is the part about how the Father was looking for the son every day. One day, there he was coming down the road and the Father runs to him and kisses him. He puts on a feast and clothes him in robes, honoring him. He hadnt forgotten his son and loved him always. This is also a story about repentance...turning from the way we have thought and lived and gone to the True Way. Repentance is not when you turn and love God, but when you let God love you. (Creflo Dollar) The love was always there for the prodigal son. This love conquers our fear of not being loved. Return to the Lord if you have lost your bearings and way...He loves you with an everlasting love.
