A fuel supply module (FSM) is used in passenger vehicles to deliver fuel to the engine. In designing the FSM, there are a number of technical challenges that necessitate the use of simulation. Continental’s Powertrain engineering team creates a wide variety of simulation models for such purposes, including CFD pump models, structural models to simulate pump stage deformation, electronics cooling, acoustics modeling, gerotor pump kinematics, and simplified crash models.
