Have you seen a ruler up this close? My camcorder could only get - TopicsExpress

Have you seen a ruler up this close? My camcorder could only get about 2500 dpi at its best, but this is a rather insane 19,000 dpi. That is, 19,000 pixels in the image is 1 inch in the real world. Thats nearly 4 times as much as I was hoping for. But man, so much detail... but a horrible depth of field to go with it. This is because I have no direct way to control the aperture. From experimenting, Ive found that the shorter the focal length, the greater the closeup I can get but it also means a much worse depth of field. The longer the focal length, the less of a closeup I can get but with the zoom lens offering a variable aperture with a smaller aperture at the longer focal length, I can get a much sharper result at the cost of not being able to get as close to the subject (and thus, less dpi). Still, even at the 42mm focal length, I get about 8500 dpi. imgur/uMod2Io
