Have you seen the first official trailer for Ant-Man yet? https://youtube/watch?v=xInh3VhAWs8 Personally, as trailers go, this looks fairly promising. I must admit however that many of the plot elements are looking a bit cliche at this point, what with a heroic handsome middle-class American white dude being told how different and special he is and is destined to save his loved ones. However, the closer attention to family aspects does make this seem a bit different from past Marvel movies, as well as the concept of a legacy of a supher-hero that people inherit. The contrast between the serious prophesy and Scotts request to change the name does intrigue me as to what sort of tone this film wants to take. It is still a shame that Edgar Wright had to leave this project, but judging from Marvels past films, I am reassured that theyll be able to create a good balance of action and humour. Speaking of the effects, while some do look un-finished, they nonetheless look fresh and interesting as far as blockbusters go what with the attention to shrinking and size. If this film becomes a success, I wont be surprised if this inspires another company to make a honey I shrink the kids remake. Yet, it is still early days, and Im sure theyll be plenty more trailers to come over the upcoming months, but for what we have here, consider me intrigued.
