Have you truly given it to God? Many are dealing with things in their lives that are not of God trying to overcome only to find the keep coming back over and over again If a tree is cut down and the root still is there the tree can come back unless it is killed to the root in like manner if we deal with things in our lives that are not of God but do it in our own power and not by the Spirit . it can leave a root that can come back in our own life The only way to overcome totally is through the Spirit When you give it to the Lord do not try to pick it back up and Gard your mind . the mind is where the battle begins Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Fight by what you let in your mind , if you control your mind you then will be able to control your actions do not allow even the thought of evil to enter your mind ,as soon as a thought comes in stop it and put something that is of God in its place Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Gal 5:24 And they that are Christs have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
