Have you wondered why the Governors race in Illinois is worth $10-million (so far) of Bruce Rauners PERSONAL money? And huge amounts from other very wealthy Illinoians? After all, Rauner admits he has NO SOCIAL AGENDA....so hes not even interested enough In the day to day things most of us actually deal with to think of a real answer and hes NEVER BEEN INTERESTED enough before in public service to even run for ANY office. So why is he so interested now? Its certainly not to help Illinois. Its to keep the money in HIS pocket. Yes, hiding his funds the way he has offshore is perfectly legal. And hes welcome to do it. Just as Jim Oberweis has stashed money....perfectly legally...in Florida. And they can certainly continue to do that! But he should not at the same time say he has some interest in helping Illinois! It seems to me that someone who is interested in the fiscal health of our state....or our nation...should also be interested in CONTRIBUTING to the financial health. Most of us do that through paying our taxes. And most of us are not wealthy enough to shelter money away from the tax burden. Seems to me....Bruce Rauner wants the Governors job ONLY to place himself in a better position to keep his money (and that of his wealthy friends) in the hands of those who already have it....while overtaxing the middle class who HAVE to pay their fair share and work very hard to keep their heads above water. Seems Bruce Rauner knows a lot of legal loopholes. We have politicians in jail right now for trying to buy or sell political offices. This way of BUYING THE GOVERNORs office is just as legal as hiding money offshore.
