Having a baby means reading baby books and I’ve recently noticed the over-embellished dedications that go with some of these books, “I like to thank my lovely life mate, my son Dakota, and our cat Mr. Pickles. Without their Gibraltar-like support I would have never survived the daily mental strain and blood-filled trench warfare that enabled ‘Laffy the Cupcake-Loving Dinosaur’ to breathe life”. Not to diminish the accomplishment of writing a book, of any kind, but it’s a picture book with no text. Save the high octane dedication for when you write something that actually has words and more than pages like a novel or a physics textbook.
