Having a child much later in life than average woman, I find - TopicsExpress

Having a child much later in life than average woman, I find myself able to love and cherish motherhood exponentially better than I would have in my younger days. When you bring a child to this world in the second half of your lease in life, it makes you more appreciative of the little things. You become keenly aware nothing in life is owed to you, time is very limited and life is all one big miracle unraveling. Patty could not have waited a minute longer to enter into this realm; as soon as we were married, she was conceived. She embraces life with the same zeal every day, and boy don’t I feel privileged to watch her exuberant existence! When Patty and I go to playground, I meet mothers of other 3 year olds that are couple of decades younger than I. Talking about generation gap! It amuses me to hear about the common anxieties and things that younger mothers think are important. In turn, try talking about the Planet of the Apes, the first airing of the original Star Trek, the divine music of Pink Floyd or Grateful Dead and check out the blank stares! Talking about my own childhood is like a history lesson LOL! Yes, Patty and I share a lot of chuckles of this sort daily and where would I be without my daily dose of Patty hugs..
