Having a disability does not necessarily make you an invalid - TopicsExpress

Having a disability does not necessarily make you an invalid however with a system that is defined by impairment scales which place the possibility of financial assistance at the the dire end of the process rather than a sliding scale which allows for graduated assistance dependent on the level of capability the person has then it will always lead to people becoming more and more impaired.. If the process were in place to allow for minimal assistance for mild cases through to complete support for the chronically the impaired, alot of people could afford the range of treatment required to stabilize their conditions and find their capabilities rather than having to wait until they can no longer move before any assistance is offered.
