Having a long weekend on the west coast of Scotland. Woman in car on own with sat nav sometimes isnt the best combination. Even, woman to woman (albeit human to technological female)! Wanted to go the coastal road up to Girvan but I am convinced the sat nav I borrowed from my parents is possessed! Having played catch-the-garmin when the holder insisted on spitting it out several times, it ended up sitting by the gear stick. The nice lady started on the coastal road but tricked me into travelling across country instead. I kept waiting patiently for the sea to appear over a hill but all I got was twisty windy roads, beautiful scenery but no bl**dy sea. Catch-the-Garmin not being enough for the possessed lady, she then started playing low-battery-pop-the-charger-out-of-the-cigarette-lighter game every 10 minutes or at awkward moments like busy roundabouts. Technology is wonderful when it works but in the end I resorted to a map book-yes, they do still exist, and yes I am of the generation who can read one, and a phone call to my hosts to say Im somewhere near Maybole, can you come and get me. But... twas worth it all just to see the view of the Aisla Craig. Happy days :-)
