Having, at various times over the last 15 years, conducted fatherhood and parenting classes, chiefly for incarcerated men and women, I have frequently shared that I began teaching reading to my youngest daughter at age 4 months. Yes. True. It was her pediatricians recommendation, specifically to introduce her to flash cards. The benefits of doing so dramatically emboldened her entire educational experience. I am so pleased to have a friend post this video on Facebook, so that I can share it with you. Beyond the flash cards that I used more than years ago, there have been many programs developed today that optimize the educational experience for toddlers and those younger. Their young minds are like sponges, ready and willing to absorb the behavior you model, the words and skills you teach. Please share this video with anyone you know with an infant or toddler!
