Having been a long time advocate of Freedom of Religion which became personal to me when learning of my mothers parents religious heritage, it was a special pleasure to enjoy the opening of the First Freedom Center on the very site where Thomas Jeffersons enlightened Statute for Religious Freedom was finally passed with the essential leadership of James Madison. With the terrorist acts which recently transpired in Ottawa and this week in Paris, Brussels and here in America everyone should recall the principle: No man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place or ministry whatsoever..; all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion, and that the same shall in no wise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities. firstfreedom.org/PDF/Statute-original-language-pic.pdf
