Having been a trainer for 25 years, I have heard every excuse in the book for not starting or stopping exercise and weight loss programs. Which one do you use? I have no time, I cant afford it, I am not motivated or I need to wait until the time is right. When I hear this I basically zone out and hear blah...blah..blah. What I really hear is that other things are more important and although I say I really want this I am not willing to do what it takes. Its time to get real with yourself and put your health and your body up on your value list of to dos. If you have money to buy a $10 glass of wine out at dinner, find the time and the money for a vacation or you can get motivated to go out with your buddies for a night on the town, then you have to get honest with yourself and realize all your reasons for not getting fit are just excuses. Its time to get down and dirty with the real reasons you procrastinate and quit when it comes to getting fit. Success is more than a one dimensional diet approach to accomplishing a healthy lifestyle. There can be many issues getting in your way. Weight loss and health is a journey to find the places that need to be put in balance in our lives. Our bodies reflect whats going on in our lives. For instance food can be your emotional replacement for dealing with feelings, procrastination can be your way of avoiding failing, youre only selecting diets that lead to short term success and messing up your metabolism for long term success. The list can be long and complex. But the first step is getting real and realizing that year after year what youre doing is not working!
