Having caught up on question time its clear that some people think not voting is pointless and wont create change. I disagree, I know its like entering a boat race without a paddle but Id rather float off in the other direction. So many of my generation are disillusioned with the current political system and the more they bicker about issues with healthcare, education and immigration the more it becomes clear that there is no real change for the better wherever you look. I suppose the catch 22 of it all is that the change required, namely taxing huge companies that are currently doing business without paying a dime into the system, banker bonuses or even MP expenditure, is never brought to the table. Instead we are distracted by the media blaming immigrants or the economy when there is plenty of money to solve all the countries problems in a heartbeat, its just in the hands of the people who are controlling the system. There will never be any real change for the everyman whilst the people at the top want to stay there. Rather than voting so some toffs can swap seats once ever four years Id rather have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. Hows that for a slice of fried gold?
