Having experienced both aspects of student life in BMC to the fullest i.e. involvement in student politics to the extent of being President (First Secretary) of a Student Organization and academics to the extent of being position holder (topped MBBS Final Professional and was awarded Gold Medal) I would partly agree with the student leader for some of the genuine problems students face in BMC and would rather strongly disagree with their main plea of delaying exams. The Government and College authorities are duty bound to solve students genuine issues and problems like facilities and scholarships etc but I must say there is an unfortunate tradition in BMC that students keep on postponing their professional/ university exams and even class tests. By doing so the BMC sessions get delayed by many years and the students of BMC lag behind their contemporary students studying in other institutions. In this competitive era we must refrain ourselves from this unhealthy attitude if we have to really progress and compete. This becomes especially very important in the presence of newly opened medical college in the city i.e. QIMS (Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences). Though cream of the students bulk of Balochistan choose to get admission in BMC rather than in QIMS but because of better discipline, regularity and punctuality students of QIMS are likely to go ahead of BMC students for lack of discipline and puctuality, etc. Students of BMC should give due consideration to these facts and realities. And I would request friends and families not to encourage the students on negative lines just for the sake of playing filthy politics.
