Having felt quite ashamed that in all our time here we still havent made it to Caldy Island (did try but couldnt land as wind in wrong direction last time), and inspired by our guests in Tranquility who had had a wonderful day there, we actually got ourselves organised to visit on Friday. We had also only realised relatively recently that dogs are allowed on the boats, which had been one of our reasons for not trying harder as we didnt want to leave our two for too long. Well, picnic packed, backpacks sorted, dogs provided for, all day ticket at Tenby car park - trekked up to harbour (alright, trekked is perhaps too strong a word!) and.... no sailings, wind too strong! Typical!! So, we pootled along the coast to Manorbier which has a lovely little beach and castle. Manorbier was built at the end of the 11th century on land granted to the Norman Knight Odo de Barri (coincidence!) and enjoyed our picnic there. Look at that sky.
