Having had a heart attack ten years ago, and a cardiac congestive failure last year, the passing of James Gandolfini is enough to pull me up short. Heart attacks are serious. I had mine at age 47 and somehow survived. Two things come to mind. One, do what you can to stay healthy. Second is a saying I saw a few months ago that gives me perspective: "Do not regret growing older. Many have not been given the privilege." That saying hits home. I have been looking for some old friends the past few months and found out they died. Most had passed a few years ago. Granted that i used to hang out with some high-risk people, but it really showed since my wife started looking up her old friends last month. She found most of hers and they are alive. I may be one of the few remaining people, if not the last one, of my old crew.
