Having healthy vibrant hair is not all about what you put on your hair. I have said this many times before but it is about what you put in your body. The things you put in your body makes a world of difference to the outside of your body. Your skin looks healthier, your body is more in shape and yes, your hair will look a lot better. What can these foods do to you? Let’s go over a few in detail. Water - helps flush out toxins faster, which helps your hair get stronger. Water also helps the body and hair stay hydrated. Drinking a lot of water will benefit both your hair and body. The amount of water to drink is your body weight/2 = amount of water in ounces Fruits - Eating 1.5 cups of fruits a day will benefit your body, hair, nails and appearance. Most fruits have vitamin C and vitamin C helps to strengthen the hair, it helps with the collagen production, which keeps it in good condition. Vitamin A is also a great benefit, it helps with flaky and oily scalp. Mango, watermelon, tomatoes, cantaloupe and grapefruit are high in vitamin A. Fruits have way more benefits than these two so always have an array of fruits in your house. Vegetables - eating vegetables are extremely important, so important that you should get 5 servings of these (about a half cup cooked per serving). They contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and disease fighting agents. The good thing about veggies is that they have an array of vitamins such as your B vitamins which helps to strengthen the hair, vitamin C, which helps your hair look healthy and vibrant, and a whole lot of others that have great benefits. Veggies also have water in them which helps in flushing out toxins. So eat your Veggies :) Protein - protein is broken down into amino acids when digested, each part of your body select the amino acid that it needs to build and repair. And guess what our hair is made up of, yes, protein. 7 ounces of protein is all we need a day, 3 servings. I know this is boring but it really will help you in your journey. Yes, some people just have good genes where their hair will grow regardless, but the majority of us are not blessed as such, so make sure to incorporate a good diet a long with a good hair regimen. Have a beautiful day!
