Having just finished watching this documentary movie... I recommend EVERYONE should see it. It is absolutely fascinating and somewhat terrifying and both hubby and I were completely engrossed throughout as well as inspired. If you dont do anything else the rest of this year, give up the soft drinks and especially the diet soft drinks. I havent had a coke/sprite/pepsi etc for over 3 years now after being quite a pepsi twist addict. I dont miss the soft drinks and fortunately I have never been a fan of diet drinks so has never been an issue to give those up... I truly recommend you try. Get rid of them, see how much better you feel after a couple of weeks. There is increasing research and evidence coming about that the artificial sweeteners consumed in diet drinks/ low calorie food products drives the development of glucose intolerance by altering the intestinal microbiota. (Your gut flora.) A study by Eran Elinav and colleagues (2014) show that consumption of the three most commonly used non-caloric artificial sweeteners — saccharin, sucralose and aspartame — directly induces a propensity for obesity and glucose intolerance in mice. These artificial sweeteners are changing our bodies... and not for the better!
