Having just spent the last half an hour or so riding in my dads - TopicsExpress

Having just spent the last half an hour or so riding in my dads farm truck, hauling garbage to the rubbish dump with him, I came away with a few realizations: 1. That when you want to complain about how slow his driving is that you need to remember that his speedometer has been broken for the last 10 years and that he just moves at the pace of Lloyd. 2. That when you have to spend any amount of time in his truck-- layered with so much dirt, mud, and probably slop--that theres a pretty good chance that you will come out smelling like a piggery, his home away from home. 3. That when he wants to share about old time Waimea, talking about the way things used to be, that you need to listen. Period! 4. That when he cracks jokes and roars with laughter at his own apparent comic genius, that you should laugh with him and enjoy the fact that he really is hilarious. 5. And that when he says that youll probably smile about this when you head back to Wimbledon (the name he, for some odd reason, always says instead of Wellington), that you should know that hes probably right.
