Having lived and breathed Le Video for over 20 years as well as - TopicsExpress

Having lived and breathed Le Video for over 20 years as well as having had the pleasure of helping to build one of the greatest, publicly accessible film rental libraries in the world - one could say that I am certainly biased to this cause. I assure you that even if I wasnt, I would still be doing everything in my power to urge friends, film fanatics and every other person on the planet to join in the fight to keep yet another San Francisco institution from disappearing. Independently owned an operated for 34 years,Le Video is home to over 100,000 films from around the world - THOUSANDS of which CANNOT BE FOUND through services like Netflix, Redbox or ANY kind of digital streaming service. Do not be mistaken - Le Video is NOT YOUR AVERAGE VIDEO STORE. It is a two-story archive that has been put together, not just by the amazing staff that have come and gone over the years, but also by all of you who have recommended titles to us over the years. It is Mecca for movie lovers and an absolutely vital artistic and cultural resource. A place to find that film that you have always been looking for as well as countless others that you never even knew existed. As many of you may have already heard, the store is facing financial difficulties and may be forced to close its doors for good. In an attempt to save the collection and keep it available to the public we have launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign. If possible, PLEASE DONATE (and dont forget to write a comment on the fundraiser page) and SHARE THE LINK TO THE FUNDRAISER PAGE. Help us get the word out to as many people as possible. We cannot do this without your help. - Mark Bowen, Store Manager and Le Video Alumni since 1991 https://indiegogo/projects/save-le-video-a-sf-film-institution
