Having put one streak behind them, Fostoria High School’s Redmen would like to start a very different one. Last week’s 36-14 win over Cardinal Stritch snapped a 21-game losing streak for FHS. And while a victory Friday night over visiting Toledo Horizon Science Academy would make for a modest two in a row, it would be another step forward under first-year coach Derek Kidwell. FHS and Horizon are slated for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Memorial Stadium. “I want us to go out and build another building block — get better from Week 1 to Week 2, get better from Week 2 to Week 3,” said Kidwell, whose club will take a 1-1 record into Friday night. “If we do that, I think we’ll definitely be on the way up. The Redmen were disallowed from entering their sideline through the under-the-stands tunnel until they ended the losing skid. The traditional entrance will return this week on the heels of a win in which FHS scored 30 unanswered points before lightning prompted the game to be called at halftime.
