Having surgery or a procedure done soon? CAUTION! Nitrous Oxide [NO] is not a good choice for anesthesia if your body cant detox very well because it depletes GLUTATHIONE, which can be dangerous. Nitrous Oxide appears to be especially problematic for people on the autism spectrum, and or if the person may have MITROCHONDRIAL DYSFUNCTION due to associated Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms [SNPs]. GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS No Nitrous Oxide No acetaminophen [Tylenol] (no oral no rectal…none) because it uses up Glutathione. …………………… GENERALLY GOOD CHOICES Sevoflurane …the recommended choice for anesthesia. Versed [benzodiazepam] is acceptable Toradol is an acceptable NSAID for pain management short term ANESTHESIA FOR HISTAMINE SENSITIVE PEOPLE FENTANYL [DURAGESIC] Most pain meds are histamine liberating… except for Fentanyl [Duragesic] ANTI-HISTAMINES… for those who are HISTAMINE sensitive: 1. Benadryl 2. H2 blockers such as Zantac/Pepcid or Tagamet can be beneficial to prevent nausea and vomiting due to histamine and acid release.
