Having to say goodbye to the man whom I adored with all my heart and who gave so much to his family, his community and his world has been an intensely painful, yet privileged journey. Throughout his entire illness, in spite of medical issues, misdiagnoses, extensive pain and suffering, this extraordinary man remained patient, grateful and kind with humbling grace. The gap in our lives and the deep hole in our hearts are raw but we have been surrounded and overwhelmed by an outpouring of love, gentleness and support. To all my beautiful friends and family - your communications, cards, flowers gifts and practical support have been appreciated immensely - THANK YOU xx (PS For those who were not able to be at the service and have asked for some video, we will be uploading shortly)
