Having worked and volunteered at the local humane society, Ive experienced the intelligence of both pit bulls and rotties. They can be the most lovable and loyal of pets. It was heartbreaking when they were brought in to the shelter for any reason from terrible abuse and neglect to just the fact that the owner no longer wanted them. However, looking at the statistics of human fatalities due to these two breeds is also heartbreaking. That figure does not even come close to the number of deaths of children that occur from child abuse. But, I see probably 50 times more posts that are sympathetic to the Pit Bull breed than to the humans that died at their jaws.......and close to 50 times more posts about giving a voice to and saving the pit bull than posts that seek to give a voice to children endangered in abusive situations whether it be domestic violence or flat out human trafficing victims. What is Wrong with this picture?? ????
