Hawaiis legislature passed gay marriage legislation, and the - TopicsExpress

Hawaiis legislature passed gay marriage legislation, and the governor is expected to sign it into law later today - making it the 15th state to ensure its citizens enjoy equal rights and protection under the law. The Illinois governor is expected to sign their new law later this month. People can complain all they want, but this issue is over. Next up: 1. Equal treatment for women: Make the violence against women act permanent. Ensure women are paid the same as men. End anti-woman legislation being pushed by conservatives across America (why any woman in her right mind would align themselves with a political party determined to restrict her rights is beyond me.) 2. Enact gun control legislation. No more Sandy Hooks. 3. Expand Obamacare to a single payer system, eliminate for-profit health insurance, and expand the safety net for our societys most vulnerable citizens 4. Get big money out of politics - corporations are NOT people 5. Expand immigration rights. Do not break up families. Simplify the path to citizenship. 6. Secure our food supply - banning trans fat is just the start. Realize that Monsanto is evil. 6. Pass laws taxing the rich and re-redistribute wealth BACK into the hands of average Americans, where it can actually help (and not hurt) our economy. What else? m.washingtonpost/blogs/govbeat/wp/2013/11/12/hawaii-will-legalize-gay-marriage-as-soon-as-tuesday/
