Hayes Mill Creek.... a creek with alot more history than most know. It is a creek that runs from rt 73 on the border of winslow/Berlin across cooper folly Rd , over to atco lake, across both new and old white horse pikes across Tremont Ave across Sandy causeway and becomes one with the nescohauge and into the Mullica river. In the 18th there was an active mill on this creek closer to atco lake. I have explored pretty much the whole section from white horse pike to the nescohauge. But never from atco lake to cooper folly rd. Today I did. I crossed my street and made it through 1.5 hours of thick swamp and briar patches. I made it. I stand on the log of the last picture as I type this. Before winter hits I plan on walking the creek and finding any possible remnants of the mill that was once owned and ran by Mr Hayes. Enjoy the pics.
