Hazardous Fuels: A Workshop for Burn Managers on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Hurricane Katrina created a tremendous volume of down woody debris across south MS. This debris and the increased growth of the forest understory, much of which consists of volatile fuels, have created a hazardous fuel problem for burn managers. This workshop is designed for Certified Burn Managers and will address the problems and solutions to hazardous fuels in south Mississippi. Topics will include: •Burn plan preparation •Smoke management •Forest fuels and burn operations •Liability concerns •Mechanical and chemical fuel reduction •Site visit to examine the above topics When: Thursday, November 6, 2014.. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. with the program starting at 8:30 a.m. Where: Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Heidelberg Hall - Cafeteria, Perkinston, MS.
