He Restoreth My Soul Psalm 23 Psalm 23:3, “He restoreth - TopicsExpress

He Restoreth My Soul Psalm 23 Psalm 23:3, “He restoreth my soul...” We as mankind are made up of three spheres, body, spirit and soul. The body, of course is the visible and touchable part of man. Its function and intricacies are to say the least, astounding. The body, however, will die and return to the dust of the ground. The spirit of man is the breath of life given by God himself. It is in a sense borrowed from God from the moment we are conceived to the moment we die and then returns to God. The soul of man is quite different. It is the sum of the emotion, experience and personality of an individual and it is eternal. It is the soul that is eternal. It is the soul that is the redeemable part of man that Christ is concerned with. It hopes and despairs, loves and hates, laughs and cries. It is the soul that remembers every detail of life and when life deals painful blows, it is the soul that suffers the most. Like a lamb that has strayed away from the fold and has been ravaged by the elements and dangers of the wilderness, our Great Shepherd will take our soul that has been cut away at by the cruel actions of life or others and brings again the sweet of life. Shame, grief and guilt melt as snow on a warm sunny slope as a tide of faith, hope and love floods your soul. Self esteem and a sure confidence of your relationship with Christ and others emerge as you realize the Lord is my Shepherd; He restoreth my soul. 1. Can you share a time that you felt particularly distant from God and what was happening in your life to cause this. 2. Guilt is a weapon of our enemy Satan. If you can, tell of a time that the Lord gave you victory over guilt. 3. Satan will try to convince you that you are a failure. Encourage the group and reassure us that through Christ no one is a failure. 4. There may be some reading this that have suffered or is suffering right now the effects of guilt, grief or shame. Pray for one another that your souls would be strengthened and restored by the God Shepherd.
