He dreamt of becoming a writer at a young age. Five years ago, he graduated with a degree in communications. He also has a business diploma from Singapore Polytechnic. But he ended up fishmongering as he earned more money doing so and because he sees it as his calling. Although he does not regret studying for his degree, his gamble paid off and he has never looked back. As a matter of fact, he admits that he earns slightly more than his peers in such fields as banking and accounting. First, there are only two media companies in Singapore plus five million readers, most of them already taxed to the maximum. You do not have the benefit of 300 million affluent people in your market. So you can only be a writer in your free time, only when you are a lawyer, doctor or fishmonger. Second of all, my degree is part-banking and part-accounting, and they are quite general imo. Not to forget, money is not my biggest motivation. It is the feeling of being recognized by society and your family. You wont know unless you step into my shoes :P
