He forgets two things. 1, Israel is not currently occupying Gaza. If Israel had serious intentions of occupying Gaza they would have used more troops. Israel is simply responding to the constant rocket bombardment by Hamas indiscriminately on its people and has already begun withdrawing its troops. 2, In a broader sense he is referring to the West Bank and Israel as a whole. History however shows there was never a Palestinian state or kingdom in either Gaza (Gaza was gained in the 1967 war from Egypt -not Palestine), the West Bank (was gained also in the 1967 war but, from Jordan -who refused to retake possession in a treaty with Israel) or Israel as a whole, in fact there was never a people called Palestinian until after 1948.
